Will you notify me when X becomes available for sale?

No. Please don't underestimate how many times I am asked this question!  I simply do not have the time to notify individuals when certain items are posted for sale.  Please "like" my facebook fanpage here for regular notifications when new items are posted for sale, or simply check my website often.

When will you start accepting custom orders again?

One of my newest frequently asked question is "When will you start accepting custom orders again?".  The short answer is:  I won't. I no longer accept custom orders because I am slowly preparing to leave my full time devotion to my crafts and rejoin the public work force soon.  I have drastically reduced my feather working supplies that I had previously kept on hand while filling custom orders, and so I am trying to reflect the "no custom orders" mantra here on the website.  When I do have time to craft, my work will be available in a premade buy-it-now format here

Although I no longer book custom orders on a waiting list, I still try to offer a few premade items for sale that allow you some customizability.  As time allows, I will post premade items  here that lack threadwork.  These items will feature blank white quills to allow you to choose your own thread colors. Simply list your preferred threadwork colors with your credit card payment, then I quickly finish your item(s) and mail it to you, NO WAITING LIST!

Do you have any _____ for sale?

My most frequently asked question is "Do you have any (fill in your own item here) for sale?".  The easy answer is:  No, I do not.  If you don't see it listed on one of my Regalia For Sale pages, then I don't have it for sale.  I do not hold any extra inventory for sale.  I do not travel to powwows because I have no extra inventory to sell.  When I have anything in stock, it is already listed on my Regalia For Sale pages.

Why are prices higher than the last time I inquired?

My work is always improving, and I continuously search for better quality supplies. Prices are subject to change at any time. New prices for 2010 compensate me for standard cost-of-living increases including higher costs of supplies.

Do you ship to Canada and at what price?

Yes, I frequently ship to Canada.

bullet

CARRIER: I ship packages to Canada via USPS Registered Mail, which usually takes 3-4 weeks to arrive abroad.

bullet

FEE: Shipping starts at $25 USD and *increases as the cost of the item(s) purchased increases.

$11.50 = registered mail fee
$  2.30  = return receipt fee (requires customer signature)
$  5.00 = approx. first class mail postage
    $  3.00 = additional insurance
    $  3.20 = handling fee*
    $25.00 = total due*
Why registered mail?  Registered Mail parcels are placed under tight security from the point of mailing to the point of delivery to help speed delivery and prevent opening or rifling. Registered mail also includes insurance against loss or damage, tracking, and verification of the date and time of delivery and/or delivery attempts.

bullet

TRACKING: An email containing your label number will be sent to the email address you entered during checkout.  Enter your label number here to see limited information while your package is enroute.

bullet

DELIVERY: Your package will be delivered by your Canada Post carrier where you normally receive mail.  If shipping to a PO box, please check your box for a delivery attempt notice, and check with your postal employee because my packages are typically too large to fit inside PO boxes.

bullet

CUSTOMS: I must/will claim full retail value of your order on the shipping customs forms. Import fees/duties may be charged by your government.  Duties are paid to your government, not to me! Duties are the sole responsibility of the customer. If you choose not to pay your duties and abandon the package, the package will be returned to me at your expense. I will not refund abandoned purchases.

See this for more information about shipping.

What is Paypal and why don't you accept foreign money orders?

Paypal is an internet service that allows you to pay me by credit/debit card or bank account transfer.  You do not need to be a Paypal member to pay me. You may need to turn off your popup blocker to use Paypal's cart system of shopping my website.  Paypal is the most secure method of payment for all customers and costs the customer nothing to use, and no one (including me) ever sees your credit card number. Once you have successfully completed checkout, Paypal will send you a confirmation email, so please enter a valid email address.

I do not accept money orders or personal checks from foreign countries due to restrictions imposed by my bank.

Do you take orders for beadwork or sequinwork?

No, making legal plumes (and being a stay-at-home mom) is a full-time business.  I may occasionally sell beaded or sequined sets that I make in my spare time; check my Regalia For Sale page.

Do you wholesale?

No.  Each item is individually crafted, and I do not usually have any backstock to sell in bulk to retailers.  Nor do I sell featherworking or beadworking supplies.

Do you offer any discounts?

No.

How do I wear my new plumes?

Click here for an informative page about wearing ladies' plumes and grass dancer antennae.

Do you have a waiting list?

NO: I no longer have a waiting list because I have quit pre-booking custom orders.

Can I subscribe to receive emails from walela49?

Yes.  Click here to add your email address to the list.  I do not send frequent emails, but I do try to send occasional newsletters or announcements.

NOTE: I will be discontinuing my email newsletter in 2011.  I do not have the time to maintain it.

Will you use my real eagle feathers for an order?

NOTE: Because I no longer pre-book custom orders and only sell my work on my Regalia For Sale pages, I no longer complete items using genuine eagle feathers provided by the customer; however, I am choosing to leave the below information for reference only.

Plumes: If you have an NER permit, yes, I will rework your real eagle plumes.  Prices are the same as listed on my “Legal Plumes Prices” page (plus $5 per price point for custom work).   Because I do not typically accept custom orders, preference will be given to customers with whom I have worked previously; and waiting times can extend up to 6 weeks.

Fans: If you have an NER permit, yes, you can provide your own eagle feathers for me to use in making a fan.  Prices are listed on my “Peyote Fan Prices” page (plus $5 per price point for custom work).  Because I do not typically accept custom orders, preference will be given to customers with whom I have worked previously; and wait times can extend up to 6 months.

A copy of your permit is required when mailing real eagle feathers. The permit and any unused feathers will be returned.  I do not sell real eagle feathers.  Charges for reworking existing eagle plumes and feathers are for labor and supplies only.

Why do I require a copy of your repository permit?  Mailing your permit with your genuine feathers is for your protection. Your permit was mailed to you when you received your eagle from the National Eagle Repository (NER) in Denver, CO. and is the only document that will prove that you obtained eagle parts legally.  Should the package be opened enroute, the feathers should not be confiscated when accompanied by your permit.

Postage (for feathers loaned to me) is the responsibility of the customer.  Delivery confirmation and insurance on your feathers is strongly recommended, because I am not responsible for your property until the feathers reach my place of business.

See my discussion on eagle feather laws here.

See buy-it-now threadwork here or customizable stems here to purchase solutions for adding my expert threadwork to your own feathers at home.
